Technology is changing quickly and the rise of fully immersive experiences for the home with systems as 360O sound and super large immersive LED screens have changed the game for what is available to the homeowner of today.
Increasingly people are using their home to watch films rather than go out to the cinema etc. which means the demand for dedicated entertainment spaces has risen dramatically. Not many people want a dedicated home cinema, it's hard to experience the joy of a sports game or just watch some TV in a dark room. These new entertainment spaces can be your main living room, a room that has beautiful art on the wall, a room that becomes a fully immersive cinema, a sports stadium or a great concert venue at the push of a button, and best of all you now don't need to close the blinds.
These new technologies however require careful consideration and design at a very early stage to ensure that they can be deployed efficiently and working to their best. Failure to consider this early can lead to to compromises and potential failure to install later. We would always recommend that these systems are discussed with the homeowner as part of the design conception stage and this document will give you a better understanding of what is available and help you to have that conversation from an informed position and allow you to design spaces that deliver incredible visual experiences with a quality of sound to match.
Fail to do this and your client could end up with a room that at best doesn’t perform well at worst will be had to use with echoing sound, screens in the wrong space and a system that is hard to understand and use. Get it right and your client will discover incredible experiences whether watching the screen or just using it as part of their environment.
This session from Samsung will explain the differences between LED Screens and traditional projection based systems. You will learn that an entertainment room can be so much more than a space to watch TV and you will learn the basics of how to design a multi-purpose luxury entertainment room for whatever your client needs.
