Lutron:Roller Blind Fabrics, Form vs Function

The market desire for motorised blinds is growing rapidly as it provides homeowners with more comfort and convenience, along with added security. As a result, intelligent shading has become one of the most lucrative products in the integrator’s portfolio.

Many people overlook fabric selection for roller blinds and assume it is a decision to be made solely by an interior designer. But the fabric used for roller blinds has far reaching implications for the homeowner’s comfort and the practical applications for a room. There are often conflicting needs that must be satisfied. This course explores the various properties of fabrics and allows attendees to understand how each of these properties can be adjusted so they can get optimal results on all their projects. This course also presents how to select fabrics for roller blinds, preparing attendees to add value to their blind conversations with their clients.

By the end of this course, attendees will understand the key performance metrics of fabrics, the relationships between those metrics and what they can do to adjust each one. Attendees will gain an understanding of how proper fabric selection allows hem to balance view preservation with the need for privacy and manage glare and heat gain while optimising the use of natural light.

Blustream: The Sports Events With The 5 Rings

Presented by Aiden Jones, Technical Director, Blustream

We’ll talk about how the OBS delivers images to sports fans around the world during events.

Using these recent sports events as a base, we’ll show how video over IP can reach massive scales. We’ll show how reliable it has to, and can, be.

The course will demonstrate Blustream’s part in the OBS puzzle and the part video over iP plays in the success of the games. We’ll also aim to make attendees leave with an appreciation of why, therefore, video over iP is powerful, useful and not to be afraid of.
